General Meetings General meetings are open to all, club members
and non-members alike. About the only prerequisite for
attending a meeting is an interest in Amateur Radio!
Meetings are held on the Third Wednesday of every month,
starting at 7:30 PM. The meetings are held at:
Town of Binghamton - Town Hall, 279 Park Ave,
Binghamton NY
The typical flow of a general meeting is:
- Introductions
- Business Meeting
- Refreshments
- Program
During the Business Meeting Portions, we usually
have the Secretary’s report on the previous general
meeting; the Treasurer’s report; Committee reports;
Old business; and New Business.
Board of Directors Meetings
The Officers of the club meet monthly, usually on
the first Wednesday of the month, starting at 7:00 PM at
the Broome Community College Campus, Office of Emergency
Services (West Side of Campus).
Board meetings are open to all BARA members and
representatives of other amateur organizations. The
board meeting is where much of the club’s ‘nitty gritty’
business is handled. The officers work on
recommendations for our annual budget, form club
committees, help committee leaders with problems, etc.
Club members with ideas, gripes, once-in-a-lifetime
opportunities, etc. are encouraged to attend a Board of
Directors meeting and present their idea.
BRAT Net
The Binghamton Radio Amateur Technical Net (BRAT Net) meets on the
WA2QEL 2M repeater, 146.820 -600, every Sunday evening at 8:00 PM. The
purpose of the net is to ask and answer your technical questions,
announce upcoming events, and chat with other club members. All hams
within earshot are invited!
Our thanks to the Susquehanna Valley Amateur Radio Association (SVARA)
for the use of the '82 repeater!
